New Release: Jens Lissat – Acid Dream ( Bonzai Records )

We welcome techno legend Jens Lissat back to Bonzai Records, and just in time for the summer festival season, with the fantastic ‘Acid Dream’. Being considered with legendary status is something that is earned through decades of dedication, hard work and being able to dish out quality, timeless music, these are all traits this guy holds and over 30 years later, he’s still at it. At Bonzai we’re always excited to hear what his latest offering will be and, in true Lissat style, he always shows up with the goods. A pleasure as always.

‘Acid Dream’ arrives in two flavours, characterised by the Original Mix and the Rave Mix, along with a condensed yet highly energetic Rave Edit. Both mixes have been designed with maximum dancefloor destruction in mind with the original mix being the more subdued of the two. This mix carries a powerful groove with punchy kick drums and rhythmic percussions laying the foundation for a rolling bassline and sweeping synth hooks to take control. Cool vocals and retro hoover synths combine on the break, adding to the pure, raw energy of the groove. An absolute stomper that will not disappoint.

On the rave mix, Jens lets loose with pounding beats and a nasty, chest thumping offset bassline. Bright, shimmering percussions cut through the low frequencies as metallic riffs build an electrifying groove. An infectious hook sweeps through, along with cool vocals before the break brings in classic hoover licks that take us to the drop and into the final act. A monster tune and a must have.
